Asci (260-300) x (13-14) µm2. Asci tips blued in iodine. Paraphyses equal, septate, tips usually slightly swollen. Edibility Unknown Notes Note that recent DNA analysis has indicated that P. cerea, P. micropus and P. repanda are synonyms for P. varia. Specimens growing on rotted manure may be confused with P. vesiculosa.
